Gangtok Travel Experience
"Jobs fill your pockets, adventures fill your soul". Very well said right? In my previous blog, I covered how to get placed in top MNC’s, I hope you all liked it and found it informative. So again I’m here with my fresh new travel experience to Gangtok, Sikkim. No matter where you work or how much you earn, you should travel. It not only freshens up your soul and mind but it also adds to your knowledge about different place’s cultures, food, language, festivals, etc. Like some of you, I also didn’t find traveling that important as a part of life but trust me as I started traveling, it made me realize its true importance in life. The weather of Gangtok in December
The very beautiful hill station of North Eastern Himalayas,
Gangtok enjoys pleasant weather all throughout the year. The temperature in
Gangtok slightly drops to 12 degrees in the month of November and the
temperature in December and January ranges between 2 degrees and 8 degrees, which
is freezing cold. You might not be able to indulge in fun activities on rainy
days but can visit top tourist spots in Gangtok. But avoid traveling during the monsoon. The best time to travel is from October to December.
Most interesting & eyecatching places which I covered
My group planned limited places for our trip and we all
were extremely happy with our tour of the Sikkim Gangtok trip. I have listed some
of the best experiences from my tour of 7 days in Sikkim Gangtok, have a look
at it.
1. Hanuman Tok & Bakthang Water Fall
On the first day, I did local sightseeing which covered Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok. These two places have an amazing view from the top. Next, we covered Bakthang Waterfall which was also quite eye-catching. Along with these we also went to the very famous MG Marg for shopping.
2. Tsango Lake & Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple
We covered Changgu Lake or Tsongmo Lake & Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple on the second day, which is located a few kilometers away from Gangtok. The lake was almost frozen and the beauty was worth admiring. The view was so mesmerizing that I couldn't stop myself from capturing it. Then, we left for Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple. He was a very brave Indian Army soldier, folk hero & saint. The temple is built in his memory and shows his reverence. The roadsides were full of snow and trust me watching the snow made us forget about all our worries.
3. Nathula Pass & Zero Degree View Point
Some Tips For All Travelers
- Aadhar Card, Voter Id, Passport, and 5-8 Passport size photographs are the "must-carry" documents. Passport, if not present then Voter Id will do the job but for the safe side carry both.
- Carry a lot of winter clothes or I would say at least the clothes which you can layer and wear.
- Carry hand gloves, woolen cap/skullcap also comes under the "must-carry" category.
- Women, avoid carrying heels, rather prefer carrying boots(little or no heel) & shoes.
- Travel in a group or with family.
- If you don't want to miss anything in Gangtok, plan a trip for 7 days.
- Snow is only properly visible in winter months, so try to travel in winter.
How To Enjoy To The Fullest In A Budget ?
- Avoid fancy hotels for staying.
- Traveling in a group will save you a lot.
- Don't carry extra luggage
- Try to use public transport
- Plan everything in advance(This blog will for sure help you with that)
- Carry Cash, don't eat away your cash. Avoid using cards everywhere.
